HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY
Tattooworks was born nearly 30 years ago when I decided to tie myself to the tattoo world forever. After spending nearly 20 years in the Fleming Hill district in Rome, I decided to pursue a new project, one I’d had in my heart for a long time. Looking for a suitable location for this somewhat crazy idea of mine, I had the incredible luck of finding a marvelous place with the perfect characteristics and the right potential to give substance to a dream.
Today Tattooworks does not want to be a tattoo “factory” where the tattoo becomes that mass phenomenon which has become synonymous with pure aestheticism and can easily lose its true and most intimate identity. On the other hand, in this place, I would like to protect, rediscover, inform, and perpetuate (through time) the old ideals and flavors of of this craft in respect of the past.
The intention and idea is to ensure that the tattoo is preserved in its deepest essence and that its indelibility be, for whoever gets one, the memory of his/her own inner journey. I am certain that with the help of my colleagues and friends, the structure that we are creating, unique in its kind, will be able to collect, condense, and therefore transmit to everyone the true spirit and soul of the world of tattooing.
